GOOD JOB!

“Writing a book is a horrible, exhausting struggle, like a long bout with some painful illness. One would never undertake such a thing if one were not driven on by some demon whom one can neither resist nor understand.”

~ George Orwell

Stories & Shadows

I DO write SOMETIMES

I’m an author, psychologist with a PhD, and a bit of a jack-of-all-trades. My journey has taken me through marketing, customer service, human resources, consulting, branding, technical writing, and copywriting. Yep, I wear a lot of hats!

I live in a super quiet rural area—seriously, it takes me 25 minutes to reach the nearest grocery store—and I share my space with my adorable cats. I’m a huge animal lover, often feeding the stray cats, possums, and raccoons that wander onto my porch. Oh, and I'm a massive book nerd, with a personal library that’s pushing 1,200 books (and still growing!). I love the peacefulness of country living, tending to my garden, and losing myself in a good story. I'm also a big advocate of supporting other indie authors (be sure to check out that section below!)

But no matter where I go, writing has always been my true passion.I've been scribbling away for as long as I can remember, but it wasn’t until about ten years ago that I decided to get serious about it. After diving into NaNoWriMo for over five years straight, I knew it was time to take the plunge and really commit.

My debut novel Honey in Hemlock releases on 12/6! (Be sure to check out those pre-order deals!) Other works in progress include a psychological thriller, a modern fantasy trilogy, and a dark romance with a demon disguised as a diety!

Writing is my adventure, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me next!

Current Works in Progress

In a world where magic is just part of fantasy novels, Lena Green is content with her simple life and structured routine. Her easy existence in Thornwick is exactly what she's always wanted - safe, quiet, and peaceful. But when a mysterious children's book from her past resurfaces unexpectedly, it awakens a dormant curiosity about her past and threatens to shatter her carefully curated life.

Her only constant is Echo Gray - the one friend she's had since her days in the orphanage. A talented welder and artist with a dark past and killer style, Echo has always been the adventurous one. But lately, something's different and darkness seems to follow in her wake. As unexplainable events multiply, Lena discovers a power she never knew existed. A mysterious watcher emerges, bringing Lena the truth of her past along with an an ancient prophecy of her fate. The darkness shadowing her best friend and the cryptic messages from this mysterious stranger push Lena toward a destiny far greater than she ever imagined.

Amara Selene Harlowe has never had it easy. Her mother was an addict who died before Amara turned eighteen. The men in her life left her either broke or broken and every job she's had has been one dead end after another. Hope was something she only saw in books and movies. But when she inherits a quiet farmhouse in rural Georgia, she finally has the chance to build a life of peace and security.

That shatters the moment she meets her new neighbor, Callan Rourke. Recently released from prison after serving 8 years for a murder he swears he didn't commit, he's dangerous, guarded and the last person Amara should want. Yet, the chaotic storm of curiosity, attraction and desire pull her closer no matter how hard she tries to resist, even when danger knocks at her door.

Callan's past isn't finished with him. The Black Ledger Foundation, a powerful criminal organization with blood on their hands, isn't ready to let him go. To protect Amara, Callan is prepared to give up his future, his freedom, or even his life. But Amara has a past of her own, and it may be the key to saving them both.
